In April 2024, the skies over Mexico, the USA, and Canada were darkened by what became known as The Great American Eclipse. Join Roo as he takes you on an exciting journey, from the meticulous preparation to the final touches in post-production, capturing this once-in-a-lifetime celestial event. While Roo is not typically an astrophotographer, he embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, and his story will resonate with anyone eager to push their creative boundaries.
Roo is a documentary-style events photographer with a rich background in photojournalism and concert photography. As a visual storyteller, he focuses on capturing the often-overlooked moments at events—those behind-the-scenes details that tell a deeper story. Roo currently works as a photography supervisor for a graduation company and serves as the Finance Officer for the East Region of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS).
Recently, Roo has also taken on the role of Lead Communications & Media Volunteer – Photography for St John Ambulance, where he has contributed to significant events, including the King’s Coronation and other locally and nationally important occasions. His passion for photography drives him to explore new challenges, continually refining his craft and sharing his experiences with others.
